IGNACIO VALDES

Born in Santiago, Chile, Ignacio Valdes pursued his studies in the School of Arts of the Catholic University of Chile: in the Belle Arts Academy of Carrara, Italy: Beaux Arts of Paris: Pratt Institute, New York and MFA Slade School of Fine Arts, London. 

Ignacio Valdés is an artist whose form of expression is of a high sensibility and of a great emotional intelligence. His work comprises of figures and movements that vibrates the painting in the cloth. One can say that his paintings are instinctive and above all, highly imaginative

 

THE CULTURAL CENTRE

The cultural centre of Tophane-i Amire built by the Sultan Fatih Mehemet in the year 1451 was an old foundry of tubes.  Later in the first world war the building capsized.  After the year 1955 the building was converted into a Military Museum. 

It was only in 1992 that it was donated to the University of Mimar Sinan after the undertaking of innumerable restoration works by an important Cultural center that has received the most important pictorial collections from the entire world.
